Barb Leeson

I have been an artist for most of my life. I undertook formal study of Visual Arts in 2007 and completed with honours in painting and life drawing in 2008. 


I have predominantly been a landscape artist taking my cues from my local environment using contemporary impression to convey my view of Gippsland’s coast and land.
  Recently I have found myself more drawn to abstract and fantasy art with layered and involved backgrounds  using mixed media.


This has given me a freedom in which allows me to use my imagination and emotions more which is a new direction which I have studied and experimented with the past couple of years.


My newer paintings at this time are very involved inviting the viewer to hopefully take the time to peruse the work and find hidden treasures, patterns and meanings in relationship to that particular work of art.
